A massive portal opened above the Forest of Glass in the Crystallized Zalra, energy cackled furiously, striking the ground and snapping massive glassy trees in half. Bizarre lifeforms began to drop from the magical entrance. Atop the cold and lifeless desolate, pitch black dogs with the head of flowers searched for any sign of life to consume as sustenance. But before they could move too far, crystallized monsters that prowled the night attacked them. Life and unlife destroyed one another in a frenzy.

Although the portal creatures prevailed as victors, their form quickly became blighted by the cursed crystal as their mind melded with their fallen enemy. Now, they guard struggled in agony, half-defending the portal and half struggling to further into the heart of the Zalra. They prove to be rather dangerous.

Although the unworldly monsters have been destroyed, their crystallized version now guard the portal, which must be closed in order to cut off the connection with the dark realms.

The portal appearing in front of her had, frankly, not been something that Luna had wanted or needed to happen right now, but nobody except her could go through it, right? That guy had said that only certain people were compatible with the portals and could go through them. Frankly, she was just happy that it had also let Natiri through with her. She never had to fight alone as long as she had that tigress by her side, helping her through thick and thin.

Looking around, she was in a strange place, one that she'd never been to before. There were monsters, with jagged crystals that looked partly like they weren't even supposed to be there. There were people with her, she hadn't been warped alone at least. Not that she knew any of the people at least, but she'd need somebody's help to wipe keep the monsters down whilst somebody that knew rifts could overload this particular rift.

Her eyes finally tracked down somebody, she shivered slightly but stood, pointing her staff at the monsters as an orb of violet, destructive energy gathered. Whoever this guy was, maybe he could help? She turned to @Iván Carl and spoke. "Can you help me defeat the monsters? I don't think I can do it alone." She turned back, firing quickly, whilst they still could kind of claim the advantage of first strike.

One minute, he was eyeballing the eyeball. The next? One-eyed Ivan was beckoning for him to go through a portal of his own making. Hopefully, it wasn't going to be like that botched portal from before, from that...dream? It felt like it, though. Iván felt his body changing, warping, as he went through that portal, almost vomiting when he finally found himself in Hylands with the others.

Is this... Crystallized Zalra? Great. Just great. Was it the purple god laughing at him for contracting Zalrisis the last time he was here? Iván was not amused. He was offended. He was slighted. He was pissed off. Spikes of crystal burst through his arm to remind him to calm down, an advice that he followed after wincing from that pain and turning those same spikes to dust just by touching them. This wasn't the time to turn into a crystallized masked illusionist.

Iván was taken aback at the sight before him, specifically the crystallized monsters attacking the pitch black flower dogs. It reminded him of how he was ripped apart by talking crystal wolves. Not a fun experience. He was alarmed when the portal creatures managed to defeat the crystallized monsters, only to seemingly fall to the crystal curse. Just like him. That curse... This curse... Iván stared at his own arm, the one that had crystal spikes burst from just minutes ago. It sure is a pain in the---

His trail of thought was interrupted when someone called out to him. It was one of the others that came with him, the white-haired woman (@Luna Avalbane ). Iván simply nodded in response. He took out his trusty hammer, gripped it as tight as he could with both hands, more an attempt to compose himself than strengthen his next attack, and deadpanned, "It's hammer time."

Iván charged at the crystallized monsters, swinging his hammer with one hand, bludgeoning what he could to their end. Should he have used his trusty illusion magic instead, considering it was more powerful than his skills with the hammer? Perhaps. But this was a long time coming. These might not have been the same talking crystal wolves that gave him Zalrisis, but they would have to do. Iván was out for vengeance, both at those wolves and at Titanius himself. No one threatens the Curry House.

After the most painfully confusing warp she had ever done, she flops into the ground of the Crystallized Zalra. Wehee, some time since she had been here. She didn't spend much time, just getting pass it on the way to the fortress with Vina. Still, its extraordinary fauna and flora was truly something she could never forget, but she wasn't here to appreciate the scenery. She was here to kick some monster ass and close this portal. And doing that she was.

Noticing that @Luna Avalbane and @Iván Carl were already punching and hammering down the monsters, she figured she could may as well help them with that by using those hands and feet of hers to crush the skull, crystal and brain of whatever those monsters had turned into after fighting with the local fauna. Using Iván's shoulders as a human jump-pad, she hopped on him, chuckling, before propulsionating herself towards her enemies. "Don't mind if i do! I can take care of this, go help close the portal!"

She then dropped down on one of the monsters, pinning it and punching straight through its head, before quickly getting up onto her palms and pushing herself upwards, landing on her feet that quickly made its way to a monster's face, getting stuck there. She groaned at that, before jumping and driving her other leg towards its chin, decapitating the monster. More and more heads and body parts rolled and flew, the Felis going through the pack like cattle. Before long, she was finished.

She then looked at the party and smiled, scratching her head. "Sorry, got a bit excited there. Any help needed with that portal-rift stuffy stuff?"

Libitina had waited for her new acquaintance to come with her so they all could get out from the acid zone but Lyria seemed to have other plans as she went to help another injured. Just as the short female was about to walk away to get to a more safer zone, a male called people over, telling them about a portal that would work if you are compatible with it. She did not think much of it. She was a new player. No way would she be able to go into the portal and reach safely. Yet, another part of her wanted to try out. She was curious to see where she would land(and also hoped that it would not be an acid filled played)

With a shrug, the girl tested out her luck, going into the portal and found herself transported to a completely different place. A much beautiful place. She did feel a bit nauseous but nothing too bad. She watched as a few people were attacking what seemed to be a crystallized versions of monster who seemed to have been guarding some sort of portal. It did not take her long to realize just what her next action should be. She wanted to overload the portal but had no idea how to. All her mastery were close ranged based with little to no magic used but she was not going to back out.

"hey stranger. Can you help me block this portal here!" she called out to the one male who seemed to free @Yukisa . She took out her whip and concentrated, hoping that channeling her strength into the weapon would be enough to cause the portal to overload, before striking her target with the whip. She look satisfied when she saw her attack had actually worked. "Sure! any help is needed!" she told the woman

Unlike during the Reclamation quest, the sight of crystallization was actually somewhat pleasant… at least, compared to the horrible chamber of flesh, acid and tentacles Yukisa had just escaped.

His body still throbbed painfully from the extra appendages Titanius had so kindly gifted him, but the breath of fresh air helped him in his attempts to push the pain to the back of his mind.

The male’s eyes drifted around curiously. His entire surroundings were solid crystal, lifeless yet also breathtaking. Even the “widlife” was somewhat still, as though they were dolls being controlled by something greater.

‘Ah, I’m getting distracted,’ he thought, shaking his head to bring himself back to focus. The fight was far from over. Though he may not be fighting the beast directly, if he were to fail here, who’s to say what would happen?

The group around him were hard at work already, slaying the monsters that had become one with the geode’s curse. Since they seemed to be handling the situation well, his attention turned towards @Libitina Cerin , who seemed to be set on their second task: shutting the portal before harm could be caused to this plane.

“Yup!” he called in response to the girl’s call for assistance, quickly rushing to her side. As he prepared himself to close the portal, taking a deep breath… he realized he has no clue how to do that. They hadn’t been given any instructions, and there definitely wasn’t a manual attached to the portal with emergency shutdown instructions.

“How-” he began saying, when suddenly a whip flew past his face and somehow managed to reach the portal that hovered in the sky. And though that seemed to be the most shocking occurrence, what was more surprising was the fact it worked.

“Ah, nevermind, I think I got it,” he muttered, looking up at the gate and taking a deep breath once more.

Winds began swirling around the portal, starting at a slow pace that steadily increased, eventually picking up chunks of crystal from the area around. The whirlwind formed a ring around the portal, and the ring generated a sheet of lightning within, sending electricity directly into the portal and causing its surface to ripple.

Unfortunately, after just barely a second, the electricity flickered and disappeared, and the winds died down.

“I think we’re going to need some help,” he called to the rest of the group.

Now that the monsters were gone, Luna and Natiri turned their attention back to the portal. They had to somehow overload it, but how could they manage to do that? Maybe just attacking it would work for them? She hummed, scratching Natiri behind the ears as she looked around, seeing that both @Libitina Cerin and @Yukisa had both attacked the portal. A whip and lightning didn't seem like the most conventional ways to close a portal, but she had something else.

She brought Natiri with her as she wandered closer to the portal, before turning to everybody, paying particular attention to @Blake Elgis who, with her ears, probably wouldn't like this. "Everybody, please cover your ears!" She called out, before she pat Natiri on the side. "Natiri, roar!"

And like that, both herself and Natiri began to glow as Natiri was bathed in her energy, before the tigress opened her mouth and let loose a thunderous roar that sent a shockwave towards the portal, causing it to ripple and shudder. Oh. Maybe it hadn't been the most effective, but it'd done something at least!

-10 HP penalty for posting again after everyone's already posted

Iván nodded at the blue-maned Felis (@Blake Elgis ), the black-haired girl (@Libitina Cerin ), and the other guy (@Yukisa ) to individually acknowledge their presence. Without waiting for them to respond, he turned to the portal. Truth be told, it was a pretty magnificent sight, this harbinger of probable doom. This was as close as Iván was going to get to this much power. Unless, of course, the masked illusionist succeeded in getting another audience with his purple god.

To the scientist within Iván, it was a glorious phenomenon, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to lay witness to the end of this world, something so powerful and at the same time so weak, weak in the sense that it had no mind of its own, a mere tool for another to bend others to its fearsome will. If only they could harness its power, maybe they could use it for their own advantage, to the good of everyone that has taken to this world as their own. If only they had time, if only each second that transpired with this portal still open didn't bring them closer to the end, if only he had the means to capture it, to bend it, to his own will, to his own genius, to his own desires... This could be my ticket to his realm, to another meeting.

Iván shook his head. He looked at everyone around him. They had done their best to get this far, but this was not the end. There was still a war against an ancient god, and everyone else, their friends and perhaps even their families, was back out there, fighting to delay the inevitable for another day, another week, another month, another lifetime. Now, Iván didn't really care about any of that, friends and families, truth be told, but if everything ended right then and there, he wasn't certain if this end would truly bring him face-to-face with that otherworldly being from down in the Spire. He needed another encounter with that magnificent creature. He must have another interaction with that being. He must, he must, he must.

The masked sorcerer channeled his illusion magic, aiming straight at the rift in an attempt to close it. Curbing his primal instinct to scream, he gave it his all, overloading the damn thing to get this over with. All five of them needed to be elsewhere.

    Rift III has collapsed

Once your group overloaded the rift and vanquish all of the monstrosities that spilled forth from it, the distorted gateway to Titanius' origin realm ruptured and collapsed into itself, discharging dark energy and cackles of lightning that struck the surroundings.

Tranquility returned as another portal opened behind you, offering you a ticket back into the belly of the beast, should you choose to take it.
