Event: Enter Dissonance

    At first it looked like everything would go smoothly, as everyone stepped forward to help fight off these strange dark creatures without hesitation. While they weren't exactly working together perfectly nobody was getting in anyone else's way, and with Zia's support it didn't feel like they would immediately be overrun as the creatures and their attacks seemed to struggle with the circle of light.

    What made the initial positivity dampen a bit was the realization that when these crawley creatures got hit they released a kind of noxious fog, leaving Vina coughing as it reached her and burned her throat. It also caused her skin to redden in irritation, the druidess trying to cover her mouth to protect her lungs even as she waved her staff in a vain attempt to get rid of the poisonous gas. Fortunately it wasn't so bas as to immediately incapacitate her, although it left her with a harder time breathing and an unpleasant tingling sensation as cold air now touched sensitive skin.

    However she didn't have the time to sit around trying to recover from the effects. All around the creatures of Dissonance were beginning to strike back, and even though everyone was fighting well the harder all of them worked the easier it'd be for everyone, and the less chance of anything going wrong. Closing her eyes to focus Vina sung another chant, breathing through her nose to lessen the effects of the fog as once more her staff glowed green. This time the green didn't disappear as much as wisps of light stretched out and attached themselves to Roland and Seraphy, Vina sending healing energies towards the two even as she healed herself and stepped closer to Zia, away from the crawler who had by now gotten too close for comfort.

    Now that she was at a safer distance Vina focused fully on the healing, figuring that Roland was suffering from the same burning throat and having noticed that the other girl had also been hit by a blast of that disgusting gas. Once her chant was finished she yelled out, hoping that everyone would be able to hear it over the sounds of combat.

    "Focus *cough cough* the ones on the ground! *Cough* They *cough* they'll cover us in *cough* poison if we don't disable them before... before they swarm us!"

    Vina wasn't a tactician or anything but even she could see what would happen if those crawlers managed to surround them from all sides. If they released toxic like that every time they got wounded... killing them might very well be the end of the group as well.

    Condition Despair Lvl 1

    Roland's head spun as he activated his magic finishing the blow. It was something that happened every time he ended a spell. He had thought it odd at first and talked to other player characters regarding it, but none knew of what he spoke of. Eventually, he began to talk to NPCs who claimed the affliction was sometimes known as a 'cost' to magic and was very common among them. Since then he had tried to ignore the pounding in his head, knowing it would pass when the spell did. This time, however, it did not.

    Of course, Roland didn't have time to think of such things as he sliced open the crawler, only to reveal the horrifying site of a thousand spiders flooding the immediate area. It took everything Roland had not to scream in utter terror as they scampered past him. His chest began to feel tight, as the pounding in his head worsed.

    "Skakel met my!"

    The words felt far away, in the deepest recesses of his mind, but they still tickled the back of his spine as they reverberated within him. "I have to get away!" he thought in sheer panic, bolting from his position, in the opposite direction of the spider-infested creature. It wasn't until he was already several feet away that he realized what he had done. His body was shaking refusing to return; he had little choice but to continue to attack from afar.

    Slowly he raised his hand, letting the words flow through him, "Gee my die damn liggaam, jou dom teef!" From the center of his palm, large bolt electricity flew forward slamming into the crawler and spending a spray of invisible spiders in the immediate vicinity. Despite the success in the attack, Roland could do little more than stand convulsing in pain as the pounding in his head crescendoed to new heights. As soon as the spell dissipated, the pain went away, however, leaving Roland gasping for air.

    Condition Needs more Guts and Effort
    Eh? The attack didn't seem to work quite as well as Seigi had hoped it would. If anything the stuff, the Dissonance, became... angrier? Well, that's what the crimson-hair got for going all buddy-buddy close-up with it, no? The attack felt less like actual pain and more like... temptation?

    "Wh-" The voice, the whispers, came from everywhere, yet nowhere. Sounded familiar yet like a total stranger. The temptation that was always at the back of her head, now louder as ever.

    Give in. Accept us. Become a part of us. Together, we will be strong. Together, we will fight. Together we will destroy. Why suffer, when it's so easy? Yes, indeed, why suffer when Seigi could just "I-"

    Suddenly, a light. A shining light that dispelled the darkness. And with it came an incredible feeling of relief. Just what did...? Pathetic. Simply pathetic. A strong mind and body Seigi's ass. Even with the gentle smile from the otherwise silent girl, the crimson-hair still couldn't believe her shameful display.

    Nonetheless, giving Enea a nod with the most sincere smile she could muster it was time to get back into action. "There's plenty more." This time, Seigi would go all out. She would rid her mind of any doubt that these things still resembled anything human - were still rescuable.

    Charging at one of the shadowy masses right in front of her it was then that even fate itself conspired against Seigi. "H-Huh?!" About to lose her balance as the rubble below her started to crumble away, the crimson-hair had to jump back, but not before kicking a football-sized piece of stone towards the Dissonance.

    Sure, it was done quick and dirty, but from that range, it had to do something! Nonetheless, the fact that Seigi tried to still squeeze an attack in made her escape anything but smooth. Her landing was catastrophically bad enough that she landed on her buttocks rather than feet, giving whoever enemies decided to follow a great opportunity to strike.

    "Ah! You dummies moved, whyyyyy! Hehehe... now what?"

    Thanks to Seraphy's help, Majolica felt like she could blast the whole world into oblivion, not that she would, hehehe.

    When the Grand Witch first decided to cast her grand ritual, she was hoping to crush four of the monsters into paste with one spell. In her mind, Majolica figured that once the shadow monsters saw their monster family members get disintegrated, they would run away. Either that or they would pledge their undying loyalty to her. But, now that they were all spread out the most the Grand Witch could do was hit two. The real question though, was which two should the witch hit?

    "Hey, hehehe! Which one of these should I--"

    As she called out, one of the star maidens, apparently the bloodthirsty one, went into crazy mode slashing at one of the shadow demons, which then sprayed out some kind of demon blood mist or what have you.

    "Ow! Hey, dummy! Watch where you're slicing things! They have poison blood!"

    Oooooh! That's not fair! I want poison blood. Dumb old monsters, hehehe. I'll blast the other way and get away from the crazy one... hehe... poison blood...

    Looking around quickly Majolica saw that the nun who she had at first thought threatened her and was now realizing that she probably didn't, was in trouble.

    "Hehehe, don't worry nun lady! The Grand Witch will save you, but no more threatening letters! It's unbecoming to threaten the Grand Witch! Hehehehe!"

    Quickly doing some mental calculations, Majolica amended her incantation.

    "Xtreme equals Apple times Yellowish minus Knickers squared plus Halloween!"

    Rotating her body, the area outlined with the spell moved with her, now encircling the central zone.

    "Hehehehehe! Don't worry, I'm good at aiming! Hehe, precision strikes are probably the hallmark of Grand Witch Majolica! Either that or overwhelming power! Hehehehehehe!"

    Continuing her spell, the air within the zone began to grow heavier.

    "Apple Never Donut Invocate Cake Optometrist Mage Mage Apple Never Donut Error Xtreme Plumpy Licorice Optometrist Silly Invocate Optometrist Never Mage Apple Grand Invocate Cake Bat Error Halloween Optometrist Licorice Donut Mage Yellowish Plumpy Optometrist Witchy Error Radical Error Xtreme Plumpy Licorice Optometrist Silly Invocate Optometrist Never!"

    With the last word, dark shadows surged explosively upwards as if a bomb had detonated in the area. Wisps of dark magic lashed out like claws swiping at everything in the area... except for Majolica's allies. As the ritual went off, the dark magic swirled around each of them making eyes in the storm of the furious barrage of twisting shadows.

    As the magic cleared, Majolica was irked that the monsters were still standing. Even so, she figured after that display, along with the fact that they were being sapped of health, each of the monsters was probably near death.

    "Broom! Let's move... hehe... poison blood."

    Smoothly maneuvering under Majolica as she sat, the Grand Witch moved to Seraphy's previous position to prepare for her next attack.

    In an instant, icky, burny, monster guts splashed all over Seraphy's face. Most of it had gotten in her eyes.

    "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~! waaaaaghh-----huh?! OW! OW! OW! OW! GET IT OFF EEEEE~! WHAT IS THIS, NOOOO~! THE SMELL IS UGHRPH~! *cough* *cough* IT'S LIKE HABENEROS AND SWEATY SOCKS!!! *gag* "

    In a way Seraphy was spared from having to get a close look at the monsters and risk her sanity, in a very other way, she had the closest, most mentally damaging, view of them of all. If there were whispers affecting her, they were surely drowned out by the pain and shrill protests of her voice. The Wisp Fairies, unsure of what to do, floated about her with 'looks' of concern.

    Gloves at her eyes and crying from the sting, Seraphy invariably retreated back to somewhere behind her. Where? She wasn't quite sure. But anywhere was better than where she was standing. Stopping, catching her breath, and calming down, she finally cleared the guck from her eyes which were now considerably red. Seraphy was a mess.

    *Sniff* *Sniff* It hurrrrrrts. But we can't quit here Seraphy! Our people need us! Just think about poor Roland and Seigi! They're probably hurting WAY worse and they're doing their best to protect you! We can't give up!!!


    Bummed out by the whole ordeal, Seraphy once more directed a spell:

    "O' Spirits of After~ Heed my call! Life Surge!!!"

    Receiving their orders, 2 Wisp Fairies began to glow brighter and brighter as they dashed off and closed in upon Majolica and Hylia respectively. They almost looked like rocket flares in the night. When they arrived, the spirits nova'd out a flash of purple-blue life energy erasing some of their target's wounds. There was also a third fairy doing the same. Only, this one was hovering above Seraphy's head almost as if it were dancing upon her halo. When it finished its charge, it healed her just the same.

    "Ok! Now!"

    I've only moved us closer to where we've started, if nothing changes, we're all going to di----Become Wisp Fairies!

    Seraphy took in a deep breath and shouted:

    "UHM! MS. HYLIA! (@Pandora) THAT'S A REALLY AWESOME CONCERT BUT COULD YOU MAYBE PLEASE BRING IT A LITTLE CLOSER OVER HERE?! JUST ONE SPACE CLOSER TO MS. ZIA WOULD BE JUST FINE! I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HEAR YOU BETTER! AND, IF I COULD GET YOUR AUTOGRAPH IT WOULD REALLY REALLY REALLY MAKE MY DAY! PLEASE COME GIVE ME YOUR AUTOGRAPH!!!"

    She sounded a little flat as she yelled that. She was doing her best to sound enthusiastic. It was about halfway there. I mean, she certainly sounded like she REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted Hylia to move a bit closer and into effective range, but... Seraphy also sounded a little afraid, as though she were about to see the idol get mauled by bats. This unquantifiable skill at 'negotiations' with difficult persons was why The Lions had assigned (sacrificed) Seraphy to watch Majolica in the first place.

    The foe so effortlessly being able to land before her, and attack Zia regardless of the fact that she was meant to protect the important woman sent a wave of annoyance throughout her body. Comet pulled yet another arrow, laced with luck and fueled by her practiced skill, to prepare for further attack on the enemy. They weren't going to be beaten so easily. She told herself this and scanned the area to settle on a foe to defeat with her deadly determination. Slicking her pink hair back she lined up a shot meant to be nothing less than fatal if as perfect as the image her mind had created regarding possibilities. Unfortunately, insecurity remained present and prevented the success of aiding Roland's effort in defeating the crawler closest to him from becoming encouragement. Instead a feeling of dread for the future made itself at home in her heart as emerald eyes fell on Zia whom she continued to watch carefully in between delivering needed blows or providing assistance from afar. The winged creatures would need to be taken care of eventually, and she had just the right weapon to bring them down when the time came. Each time they so much as neared Comet she flinched with the fear of failure and obligation. Comfort ceased to exist despite it once clutching to her gut only - what seemed to be - moments ago.

    A Tyrant? More than one. For a single distraught town? This is more than expected. Just how much chaos has this land been experiencing? Or were the rumors true...


    The Astoreans were doing their part and a Crawler finally fell to Comet's attack. The creature made no sound, no sign of pain. It simply turned into a black fog and faded away. Even so, this battle was proving troublesome... were they not ready for this kind of foe? Although who really was? When a wave of black caused the encroaching flyers to flap hard to retain their flight. Zia smirked. Darkness against Dissonance? It was not unheard of and even darkness was gentle compared to these purposeless scum. As long as this girl did not push it too far.

    I can still use more Soul Force. You cannot harm me. I am blessed!


    Zia's clasped hands began to glow brightly as she turned to face the eastern Tyrant.

    HMPH!


    A beam of light shot from her hands and collided with the towering monster. It clasped it's arms together and withstood!

    A Guardian's sword swipe chopped a D.Wing into two and another shot came quickly from Enea as the northeast was cleared of enemies. A weapon could be seen on the girls wrist before it quickly vanished beneath her cape.
    ....!


    Enea nodded to Seigi and Roland as they gathered together settling for a moment on Roland before making a deeply concerned look. Then she turned south and her gaze shifted upwards, as her Guardian was suddenly attacked by the eastern Tyrant.

    Hey hey hey! You guys! Can't just run, or is that flap? Yeah flap right on by like that! How rude!


    Hylia spun and ran after the D. Wings that had just been nuked by Majolica. Her band vanished only to reappear all around Zia. Hylia's microphone went swinging like a golf club and a D. Wing ceased to exist.

    Woohoo! Easy peasy! Oh a autograph!? Sure sure sure! But not right now okay?! Aren't we kinda fighting right now?!"


    You better believe we're fighting baby! AWW YEAH! Loving every minute of this! I'll be a Star Chosen in no time!


    Kiri tore her katana through a Crawler. Laughing like a wild maniac.

    Come on Bart! Rip em good!


    The sound of metal being crushed was all that returned to her ears. Turning around. Kiri would see her Guardian lifted up from behind. A long black fist having gone through the knight. No blood spilled but white light was pouring out of the wound. The Tyrant that had emerged from the east lifted the tall armored sentinel as if he were a paper weight and tossed him into the fog. The next sounds were of more crunching metal, several sparkles of light emerged from where the knight had been thrown... but nothing else.

    What... the HELL?


    Kiri gripped her blade in both hands and her face contorted with rage.

    That.... was... my.... brother's... soul.... YOU MOTHERFUCKERS!


    The only response from the Tyrant was silence as it raised it's arms to its sides. As if baiting her to challenge it.

    The remaining two D. Wings of the northwest swooped in as those left in the south did the same. The north going for Roland and Seigi. The south focusing on Zia and Kiri. Seigi heard more offers of power, and the bat now began to drip something that smelled like alcohol onto the ground as it hovered over her. More launches of black came flying through the air to strike Zia's pillar from those crawlers that were undisturbed.

    And..

    The sky itself began to tear...

    Zones There are a total of 9 Zones broken up on the map. They are distinguishable by the darker black lines separating them. When taking actions that mention Zones, remember that the entire set of panels in the Zone is accounted for.

    Energy Expenditure: All masteries cost energy to use. Whether a simple sword swing or a powerful lightning bolt. Check the Energy Guide below and use the proper energy costs for every use of your mastery. Dropping to 1 EN will cause your character to become exhausted/mind downed. This will render them unable to move, take any actions, and vulnerable to damage (x3 will be dealt).Your EN will recover by 10 if you survive that turn.

    Terrain, Range and Movement: Check the Range Guide below. All masteries have a set range of attack/support. You may move one panel per turn or two panels per turn for 1 EN. Mobility mastery of Adept allows two panel movement without losing a action (still consumes 1 EN). Attacking either on it's own or after a normal move costs the amount given in the Energy Guide. You may not attack while using the two panel move option (unless Mobility is Adept). You may not enter or pass through a panel with a enemy already present. You may not enter a panel occupied by a ally (you may pass through however). Diagonal movement is allowed.

    Resting: On any one of your turns. You may decide to simply do nothing and rest yourself. This will recover 25 EN. There are no penalties for this lack of action other than the loss of your turn to contribute.

    Terrain Key;
    DARK GRAY=Paved Road
    The abandoned streets of Valor's Point.

    LIGHT GRAY=Inner City.
    Rooftops, backstreets, and generally difficult to maneuver locals. You may enter these with normal movement, however you may not use two panel move to cross over one of these panels. Exception for those with Mobility at Adept.

    CLOUDY PANEL=The Fog of Dissonance
    A fog carrying the Dissonance within it. Drawn to the chaos of the land. Entering the fog and leaving the field generated by Zia may have consequences.



    Actions
    Everyone is allowed to perform one of these actions per cycle. The actions you can take for every cycle is dependent on what masteries you have, as well as what's present on the spreadsheets down below. Use these to calculate what your dice rolls become.

    Example: Actions that match the actions available in Tank use Tank's sheet. Heals usually use the Support sheet. Any exceptions will be listed in the Action Guidelines during the Event.
    • Tank - Protect allies, disrupt enemies, and mitigate zonal damage.
    • DPS - Damage, damage, and more damage.
    • Support - Heal, buff, and dispel conditions from allies.
    Do not forget to read the Guide below! Especially for your character! It will give you actions you can use with your masteries.​


    Slashing: RA=Adjacent Panel, EN=15
    Slash (damage): Normal Slashing attack. Roll 1d100
    Reckless Slash (reckless damage): Reckless Slashing attack. Roll 2d100 (Total Roll over 100 causes Bleeding).

    Aeromancy RA=Up to 2 Panels Away, EN=15
    Aero Attack (damage): Normal Aeromancy attack. Roll 1d100
    Reckless Aero (reckless damage): Reckless Aeromancy attack. Roll 2d100
    Enhance Move (passive): Allows one to use wind enhanced movement to bypass enemy occupied panels. Also works on some obstacles.
    Turbulence (disruption): Use the power of air to disrupt a target. Roll 1d100 - 1/2

    Parry: RA=Adjacent Panel, EN=15
    Parry (defense/self): Take a defensive stance. -1/2 Physical Damage to self from the first attack next turn. No Roll
    Feint (disruption): Attempt to disrupt a target with a flashy move. Roll 1d100 - 1/2

    Beast Taming

    As the magic faded from Roland's hands so did most of the pain in his head. He would have been relieved if it were not for the crushing feeling still lingering in his chest. He forced himself to breathe as he eyed the incoming bat creatures. The moved swiftly through the air but in predictable patterns. "Seigi!" He called out, "The fly low, to gain momentum, they will likely dip down before attacking, watch for it!" The creatures split off, one going for Roland while the other went for the girl, and much as he expected the monster swung low to the ground as it streaked towards him. With a smile, Roland readied his blade, preparing to 'serve' its head like a tennis ball.

    Spiders.

    Spiders were flowing from its mouth.

    They went everywhere.

    The fear passed through him like a cold stone forced down his throat. His hand wavered, as his entire body shook. He couldn't move. The writhing mass of creature swooped in on him, slashing at him. Thousands of spiders were unleashed, crawling up and down his skin, he could feel them bitting him, injecting their venom into his veins. "NO!" He screamed, slashing his sword wildly in the air, striking the mass of flying spiders. He felt his blade connect to -something- but the swarm still hung in the air, menacingly glaring at him as it prepared another strike.

    Before he knew what was happening, Roland turned in fear, running back, jumping over Vina to the relative safety of near Zia. At some point during the sprint, he became covered in a cold sweat, as the color drained from his already pale skin, and for a long moment, he stood there panting as he tried to catch his breath. He was scared, he had fought worse, but these things terrified him. They were going to lose. They were going to die. And it was hilarious. For some reason, he began to chuckle, under his breath at first but quickly grew in intensity. "Hahaha! This is some kind of fight, what monsters!" He tried to play it off with a smile of confidence, though inside he still trembled.

    It was all over her, again. Roland's voice barely reached the crimson-haired girl as the Devil itself, or something worse, whispered to her. "Stop it..." The girl mumbled. "Stop it..." She repeated. Of course, it wouldn't be so easy, and if anything the flying Dissonance only mocked her more as suddenly, it smelled really, really sweet.

    "Ho- W-" Seigi was at a loss for words. Just how did it know? Why did it know? All this, and more, can be yours. Accept us. Let us in. With every passing second, it simply became worse and worse.

    This time, there was no guiding light to save her. No gentle smile of Enea to encourage her. This time, the Hero was alone, just how it should be. "Urgh..." Seigi couldn't really take it anymore. This wasn't how it's supposed to work.

    The crimson-hair, the entire group, was nowhere close to losing. And here she was, doing what exactly? Not being useful! Screw that. Screw them. "Would you just SHUT UP for a second?!" The girl roared against the black Dissonance.

    "You're 100 years too early to tempt me with your bullshit! It's 20 episodes too early anyway to even consider joining the dark side!" With that, the girl released a simple punch. "And this crappy PISS on the ground? Are you expecting me to kneel down and lick this?!" The second punch. "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM? I AM SEIGI LING LING, HEROIC HERO OF JUSTICE. A connoisseur of all that tastes great, NOT a goddamn addict. DO..." Finished with a kickin' backflip. "YOUR HOMEWORK PROPERLY!"

    She was... free? For now. Taking a quick jump backward, closer to the group. The Martial Artist was now in a combat-ready position again.

    After the initial surprise at the crawlers releasing poison upon being wounded it looked like everyone got their bearings back, once again gathering themselves to fight against the oncoming monsters. The poison was certainly making things harder, but nobody was so hindered by it that they couldn't keep fighting, and if they managed to take down enough of the strange creatures they could take care of the poison afterwards.

    However Vina was standing close to Zia, close enough to hear the priestess express worry at the two greater monsters that were still further off into the distance. Everything up until now had been taken care of without much issue, especially with Zia's powers holding the danger at bay and weakening it whenever it got too close. However if she was worried about these... Tyrants... it meant that what Zia was doing currently wasn't going to be enough to deal with them, or at least not without risk.

    As Vina gathered her energy for more spellcasting she saw Zia try to blast one of the behemoths away, but even from this distance the druidess could see that it hadn't worked. The worry kept rising even though it looked like all the smaller threats were getting taken out one by one. If all the smaller ones were gone they could take out the Tyrants and then they could catch their breath and think of what to do next...

    Vina was looking in the wrong direction to see it, but she could hear Kiri's scream of rage, and the context made it clear what had happened. The large warrior who had been accompanying one of the girls had been taken, and going by the words uttered is was worse than a normal death. Vina shivered, but she couldn't go over and comfort Kiri now, since the threat which had annihilated her brother was still present. Instead Vina whispered something to her companion, the white hawk nodding before it left her shoulder to instead circle around Zia, ready to intercept any attacks aimed at the priestess. If Zia got killed or taken out it'd be the end of all of them, so Vina had to rely on her friend to help keep the priestess safe while she herself focused on healing and buffing.

    She ducked when Roland suddenly jumped over her head, then turned to look at him and with some worry placed a hand on his shoulder and sent some healing energy directly into his body. "Calm down Roland. We'll make it through, I'm sure of it." She did her best to sound comforting, not wanting the one who had led them with such strong initiative to lose faith now.

    "Hehehe! Ooh! I didn't hit anyone but the monsters! That was close! I wasn't sure if it was going to work, hehehehe! Like I said, Majolica is an expert at control! Hehe, I guess this one is still alive though. Ooh, so the musician girl finally came over here. Hehehe, she heals through music?"

    Hehehe, if I sing a song will it also heal people? Hehehehe.

    Majolica took up a singing posture and began.

    "Little beast little beast looking at me
    I'm a Grand Witch can't you see
    Little beast little beast why won't you go away
    My name's Majolica and I don't want to play!"


    Though an obvious shoe-in for a Grammy, Majolica's song did nothing to heal her or harm the damaged shadow monster in front of her. It didn't even affect the crack in the sky above her, which was annoying because after here the song, surely the crack should have closed as thanks for the little witch's tune.

    Having taken the brunt of the Grand Witch's ritual, the monster now in front of Majolica, teetered and lashed out wildly while attempting to keep itself up.

    "I guess it would be best to remove this one before it can cause any more trouble, hehehe! Sorry little shadow bug, it looks like I'm going to have to eat you! Hehehehe! As a dark hero, Grand Witch Majolica normally wouldn't cast this spell, it's too bad-guy-ish, but it's okay because you're just a monster anyway! Hehehehe! Besides, after all the trouble you shadow thingys have caused, I think you've earned it, hehehe!"

    As she spoke, Majolica heard someone screaming about being a hero and doing homework.

    "Hehehe... wowza."

    Majolica returned her focus to the target in front of her and held out her right hand while grinning devilishly.

    "Invocate Mage Radical Tanuki!"

    Wispy strands of shadow seeped out of Majolica's palm lashing out the air, then recognizing their target, they stretched out and struck like vipers. Latching onto the shadowy creature in front of Majolica, the energy strands began to burrow into its core.

    "Hehehehe! Sorry monster, but thanks for the meal!"


    Forming a bridge of black magic, the spell's tendril linked itself between the monster and Majolica. After plunging into the monster, the shadowy energy began to writhe as it changed colors from a pitch black to a glowing, vibrant, and sickening green. As Majolica grinned wolfishly, the beast's life energy began to pour into her.

    "Hehehehe, now do you see why I don't use this spell monster?! Hehehe! This magic is too evil to use on regular people... but on you... hehehe, well, You've earned your punishment! Hehehehe!"

    Seraphy's eyes were shut tight, but it wasn't out fear. With furrowed brows, her pointy ears listened to the souls ringing out across the engagement as she coolly analyzed their tides and flow.

    The Berserker has lost her familiar, it housed her brother's soul, I can see it clearly, but I cannot do anything about that right now. I will have to trust her to mind her own health for now, but the outlook doesn't look good at all.

    Majolica is still in successful Soul Resonance. Soul Check: Okay.

    Zita, Condition: Normal but deteriorating.

    Ditto for most of the rest of the field...

    That just leaves...


    Seraphy opened her eyes to see Vina heal Roland, but it had only affect his body, not his spirit. That wasn't anyone's fault, Roland wasn't displaying any debuffs within the UI of the system. Even so, Seraphy was concerned. From what she had come to understand of Roland's character, something was seriously off, only, Seraphy couldn't tell what it was.

    Seraphy activated her investigation mode and attempted to peer into Roland's soul. What she was met with was a SCREECH. It was like nails on a chalkboard amplified through a megaphone. Seraphy visibly flinched at probably what appeared to be nothing as she held her ears and fought through the pain.

    So much noise! It's like static! I can't make out the shape of his soul, it's like it's been blanketed in something I can't identify! I can't even see it! What is this?! No! There isn't time, but the soul color is----Orange! Okay! Breaking link!!!

    "OwWwwwWwwwWwww"

    Seraphy rubbed her ears with tears in her eyes. Sniffling, she closed her eyes once more and taking a deep breath decided to make a gamble... (@Roland Rutledge)

    "Mr. Ruteledge!!! I had thought you were a contrarian, rebellious sort of person! If that is the case! THEN WHY are you following so closely to the intentions of the enemy script!? You are my friend Mr. Ruteledge and I will not stand idle and quiet while someone makes fun of you! We may fall here today, yes! BUT WE SHALL NOT LET THEM TRICK US INTO DEFEATING OURSELVES!!!"

    I'm really sorry Mr. Ruteledge! But this is all I can do for you right now! Please try your best!

    ...I can't lean on Mr. Ruteledge to break this pace, but we need a spark to propel us out of this downward spiral of attrition! Wait-----THERE IT IS!

    Seraphy's eyes flashed open as she swung around to face @Seigi, and shouted:

    "Commencing Soul Resonance!!!"

    A Wisp Fairy shot out from Seraphy dragging her aura and plugging it into Seigi's. It then danced over her head. Seraphy flinched from the psychic kickback and took a another breath.

    "Expanding Ritual: Commencing Soul Resonance Network!!!"

    Seraphy was now maintaining two links, one with Majolica and one with Seigi. Using her own spiritual power to perform a ping-ponging rebound of Life Energy, Seraphy empowered both with greater momentum as she fought against the strain.

    When hunting animals they dropped dead upon being killed, and remained for picking at or admiring. The disappearing Crawler both confused and disgusted her. It hardly seemed right for her accomplishment to dissolve into nothingness soon after defeat. With a shake of the head she found herself watching Zia, brows furrowed. Greater threats - ones that not even the holy woman could conquer with her power - lay in the distance. Especially, she thought, considering Roland and Seigi's issues with themselves. First came the soul of Kiri's brother being rightfully taken from her. Comet softened on the inside and out. Her arms trembled only for a tight grip to weaken. However, her teammates were important too and had problems to conquer on their own. She couldn't help them very much. After all, the young woman dealt with personal issues daily.

    A part of her dominated what sympathy caused her heart to swell. Kiri had a right to act out on her anger in the heat of the moment. But Roland and Seigi could very well learn to control themselves on the battlefield when focus and accuracy were factors that pointed to either life or an early death. A pathetic one, too, if caused by oneself. A bit offended she picked herself up and growled, "Pull yourselves together! It's called self-control, and we don't need either of you to keep acting that way. So pick your crap up and put it aside until we're done here." with a huff, and a deep breath, she nodded towards the girl who'd been able to tame herself (as tame as a Seigi can get) in the meantime. Though there had been something that hopefully Vina and Seraphy's healing could cure. But if even Zia had troubles with her holy magic... did that mean the rest of them were already screwed?

    Tossing aside the strong feelings clinging to her gut, Comet re-tightened her hold and decided to pay more attention to the south. Her teammates were in desperate need of more attention than more, but she vowed to take care of Zia until the end. So she stuck to a promise both self-made and requested by tackling those who desired the woman.

    Enea said quietly staring at the formless black substance descending slowly from the rift. She fired upon a remaining bat from the weapon on her arm, now a obvious magic using crossbow of some sort. The D.Wing disintegrated as Enea looked towards those who were closest to her at the time.

    I am almost spent... I can still do one more shot. Then it is up to you. Okay?


    Her eyes glanced for a second to Zia and Hylia before returning to the duo of Astoreans.

    You know... um... the story she told you... no. I'll tell you if we live. Mm-mm... When we live.


    A small motion with her hand that may or may not have been a equivalent of a thumbs up followed. She turned away, readying herself as her knight stood beside her and fought the Tyrant.

    Woah woah woah woah woah! What is a D. Angel doing here?! I've never fought one of these before! Kiri, we have to stick together! Alrighty then! Looks like I have to kick this performance into overdrive! Time for me to join in on the show!


    Hylia grasped her microphone closely and put her all in her performance. Now singing along with her phantom band.The entire area around her began to burst with energy.

    GIVE ME BACK MY BROTHERS SOUL! AAAARGH!


    Kiri rushed the Tyrant and began to attack him relentlessly. Ignoring her comrades calls.

    DIE! BE PURIFIED YOU FUCKING MONSTER!


    A D. Wing fell to Majolica and Comet's attacks. However Majolica would suddenly begin to feel dreadfully ill. Her skin turned completely gray and she felt as if something freezing cold was running through her veins, running through her mind... her soul. Then came the full powered song from Hylia and the feeling faded. Yet Majolica's body had been wrecked and she felt as if all her mana was severely drained

    More relentless bombardment from the crawlers, all slamming into Vina's bird with impunity.

    The two present Tyrants suddenly crossed their arms over their chests and then with a black flame enveloping their massive physiques, they opened their arms. A wave of darkness stretched across the battefield hitting everyone with a wave of force no matter where they were in the city...

    That was actually nothing compared to what hovered before them now...

    A Angel. This is the level of Dissonance that the Star Maiden would be called upon for. We.... are not trained to handle this type on our own. That does not mean we cannot succeed.... Everyone, if a Angel is purified all of the surrounding Dissonance will scatter. Ha... perhaps I can prove equal to Lady Weiss this day. Everyone focus on the Angel! Show it virtually no mercy.

    Zones There are a total of 9 Zones broken up on the map. They are distinguishable by the darker black lines separating them. When taking actions that mention Zones, remember that the entire set of panels in the Zone is accounted for.

    Energy Expenditure: All masteries cost energy to use. Whether a simple sword swing or a powerful lightning bolt. Check the Energy Guide below and use the proper energy costs for every use of your mastery. Dropping to 1 EN will cause your character to become exhausted/mind downed. This will render them unable to move, take any actions, and vulnerable to damage (x3 will be dealt).Your EN will recover by 10 if you survive that turn.

    Terrain, Range and Movement: Check the Range Guide below. All masteries have a set range of attack/support. You may move one panel per turn or two panels per turn for 1 EN. Mobility mastery of Adept allows two panel movement without losing a action (still consumes 1 EN). Attacking either on it's own or after a normal move costs the amount given in the Energy Guide. You may not attack while using the two panel move option (unless Mobility is Adept). You may not enter or pass through a panel with a enemy already present. You may not enter a panel occupied by a ally (you may pass through however). Diagonal movement is allowed.

    Resting: On any one of your turns. You may decide to simply do nothing and rest yourself. This will recover 25 EN. There are no penalties for this lack of action other than the loss of your turn to contribute.

    Terrain Key;
    DARK GRAY=Paved Road

    LIGHT GRAY=Inner City.
    Rooftops, backstreets, and generally difficult to maneuver locals. You may enter these with normal movement, however you may not use two panel move to cross over one of these panels. Exception for those with Mobility at Adept.

    CLOUDY PANEL=The Fog of Dissonance
    A fog carrying the Dissonance within it. Drawn to the chaos of the land. Entering the fog and leaving the field generated by Zia may have consequences.



    Actions
    Everyone is allowed to perform one of these actions per cycle. The actions you can take for every cycle is dependent on what masteries you have, as well as what's present on the spreadsheets down below. Use these to calculate what your dice rolls become.

    Example: Actions that match the actions available in Tank use Tank's sheet. Heals usually use the Support sheet. Any exceptions will be listed in the Action Guidelines during the Event.
    • Tank - Protect allies, disrupt enemies, and mitigate zonal damage.
    • DPS - Damage, damage, and more damage.
    • Support - Heal, buff, and dispel conditions from allies.
    Do not forget to read the Guide below! Especially for your character! It will give you actions you can use with your masteries.​

    Slash (damage): Normal Slashing attack. Roll 1d100
    Reckless Slash (reckless damage): Reckless Slashing attack. Roll 2d100 (Total Roll over 100 causes Bleeding).

    Enhance Offense (support): Buff Offense of target. Roll 1d12
    Enhance Defense (support): Buffs Defense of target. Adding a SHIELD HP total to protect a target's base HP. Shield isl 1d12 +2 HP per tier excluding beginner. Lasts for 1 cycle.
    Enhanced Range (support): Buffs Range of target for physical attacks by 1 Panel for 1 cycle. No Roll
    Item Use (utility): Use a consumable only usable by a chemist. No Roll


    Beast Taming
    If you are a Beast Tamer, your Beast has its own HP and actions. The modifier for their rolls is +5 for every tier of rarity. Refer to the Equipment section of the Wiki for information on Rarity. For example, a Basic pet will have +5, while a Great pet will have +20.

    Their maximum HP is 50 + modifier.
    They can Attack, dealing d20 + modifier damage in Melee combat.
    They can Protect one person in the same Zone as themselves.
    They cannot be buffed, and can only be healed by their Tamer.
    They can only move two panels away from their Tamer.
    Every Action of the pet will cost 10 EN from the Tamer.

    Harmonic Magic: RA=Up to 2 Panels Away, EN=15
    Harmony (support): Normal Harmonic Magic support. Use Support Sheet and select a action. Roll accordingly.
    Harmonic Field (reckless zonal support): Dispel all ailments and debuffs to allies in your Zone, however receive 2x damage if struck before next turn. No Roll
    Disharmony (reckless zonal disrupt): Use Harmonics to bring ailments and debuffs to enemies in your Zone, however receive 2x damage if struck before next turn. Roll 1d100 -1/2
    inspire (reckless zonal buff): Buff all allies in your Zone using the single buff formula, however take 2x damage if struck before next turn.

    Nature Magic:RA=Up to 2 Panels Away, EN=15
    Nature's Gifts (support): Normal Nature Magic support. Use Support Sheet and select a action. Roll accordingly.
    Entanglement (disruption): Attempt to disrupt a target. Roll 1d100 - 1/2
    Plant Growth (obstacle): Grow a plant obstacle on a GREEN PANEL. No Roll.
    Early Spring (utility): Bring forth the spring like greenery. Turn all BROWN PANELS in a target Zone into GREEN PANELS. No Roll

    Ah jeez~

    Seraphy allowed that big, deep sigh in the back of her mind as she none the less maintained her focus.

    One step at a time Seraphy, we can still pull through this... I just have to stay positive! Hm~! Let's see! What can I do next to bring us just a little closer to victory...

    Taking a deep breath, Seraphy deepened her focus as she slowly let the air out through her mouth. As her surrounding Fairy Wisps calmed as well, as if they were dogs sensing some thing or another in the great distance, beyond where the human senses could perceive, Seraphy felt out a spot where 'she should be'. It was a little bit like Feng Shui. There was simply a place where at the present, Seraphy could maximize the effectiveness of the resource that she was. Personal Safety didn't figure into this quiet meditation however, but Seraphy isn't exactly the kind of person to put others before herself in the first place. Seraphy quietly drifted away from the protective shield of music.
